Job Summary: Prepare, review and present general and/or discipline (civil, electrical, construction distributable, services) estimates in Clean Energy (Solar, Wind and Battery) businesses. Responsible for conceptual estimating, cost analysis and estimate planning, coordination, and consolidation. Performs department organizational and administrative activities when delegated. Provides direction to others on project/program level tasks.

Job Responsibilities: The following duties are performed with respect to Estimate Execution, the process of conducting an evaluation of services and/or capital cost elements of a project or effort as defined by an agreed-upon scope that will be used to make key management decisions:

-Manages the development of estimates from inception to completion. Develops an achievable estimate plan, inclusive of budget, and leads the estimating team in executing the estimate. Consolidates the estimate components and prepares the proposal internal review documents and bid forms.
-Reviews estimates and ensures quality and integrity. Ensures lessons learned are incorporated into the estimate.
-Manages proposal strategies with Proposal Management and joint venture partners as applicable.
-Prepares Estimate basis and assumption documentation.
-Reviews design or Request for Proposal (RFP) scope criteria and quantities for completeness and reasonableness, and coordinates with the project to develop additional estimating basis when information is incomplete.
-Support supply chain bid evaluation of cost and schedule criteria. May participate in discussions with vendors.
-Leads team and performs contingency analysis.
-Prepares non-manual, distributable or contractors indirect cost estimates, miscellaneous construction services, construction tools and equipment, non manual staffing, startup services, payroll taxes and insurance, operation, and other field costs.
-Effectively presents estimate Management Review package to estimate team, department management and business line management. Schedules internal reviews.
-Prepares and provides guidance in the preparation of proposal cash flow models and working capital analysis.
-Performs and reviews escalation calculations.
-Assesses and integrates commercial terms and conditions into estimates.
-Identifies risk items and assigns risk levels to portions of the project work; identifies measures to mitigate risk.
-Evaluates productivity and develops probable construction cost based on crew craft productivity.

Job Qualifications:

-Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, business management or related field OR minimum of 8 years of experience in lieu of degree.
-A minimum of 4 years of experience in Estimating or Project Controls.
-Experience in management and coordination of proposal efforts and/or project forecasts.
-Experience with civil/electrical or construction indirect estimate development
-Advanced verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to present cost information to peers, management and customers.
-Experience with Lump Sum Design estimates.
-Experience with development of crew and equipment based estimating. Ability to perform productivity analysis of construction operations and verify results by staffing and crew analysis of work operations by craft.
-Experience with development of contingency and risk assessment models and tools.
-Understanding of cost index and escalation projections.
-Ability to Travel
-Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction methods and techniques.

Fiber Optic Technician

Full-time position for experienced Fiber Splicing Technician located in Arizona & Indiana. Candidate will be responsible for the terminating, splicing, documenting and testing of all fiber optic lines within the customer’s network. Must be willing to travel. Current fiber optic certifications preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform fiber tests with OTDR’s, light source and meters
  • Terminate, splice, bonds/grounds and tests fiber optic equipment to standards
  • Perform installation of fiber optic equipment and patch and panels.
  • Working knowledge of fiber optics
  • Basic knowledge of networking
  • Proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment
  • Terminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures
  • Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently
  • Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters
  • Learn and adhere to all safety standards
  • Must be able to read and understand blue prints, designs and work scopes

Experience with the following equipment a plus:

Fusion splicer, mechanical splicer, OTDR, power meters, cleavers, strippers, buffer tube splitters, cable ring tools, hand tools, toners, etc. is preferred.

Site Safety Manager

We are seeking a talented individual to assist in developing, managing, and implementing JMS Wind Energy Health and Safety Programs. This position requires knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety management, accident investigation, and training in the renewable energy industry. The professional will be a member of our safety department, and their responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Perform job site safety inspections, maintain files, and investigations related to safety and health for JMS Wind Energy. 
  • Complete comprehensive reports of findings, including corrective actions.
  • Monthly Reports. 
  • Establish and conduct job site orientation for new employees.
  • Conduct and lead CORE training for new hires. 
  • Assist in developing and implementing health and safety programs. 
  • Must be familiar with federal, state, and local safety laws to ensure the organization complies with all current safety regulations. 
  • Need to be available for incidents after work hours. 
  • Assist in developing the company’s goals, objectives, policies, and priorities. 
  • Help employees to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
  • Transports injured employees for treatment & testing when needed.
  • All incidents, near misses, safety infractions/violations, concerns, etc., are reported to management in a timely manner. 
  • Compile incident rate data on injuries, accidents, etc. 
  • Prepare and deliver safety toolbox talks and safety training topics for all employees. 
  • Prepare, implement, and enforce Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Activities Hazard Analysis (AHAs). 
  • Conduct and document job site safety observations. 

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in health and safety, risk management, or construction is preferred but not required. 
  • OSHA 500 – preferred.
    • OSHA 30 – required.
    • Minimum of 5 years of prior related experience – preferred.
  • OSHA training and other safety certifications are strongly preferred. 
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record (Clear MVR).
  • Ability to travel to job sites throughout North America as required.
  • Travel is estimated to be 80%+.
  • Proficient in MS Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Sound judgment and independent decision-making skills are required. 
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills required. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus!
