285’ Meteorological Tower in the heart of Texas. JMS installed this one from the ground up. We self-performed everything from the excavation to the commissioning of this tower. With a well-rounded and highly trained team, we are able to provide a turnkey solution for our clients. These particular towers are used to verify the wind characteristics on a wind park. Equipped with anemometers, wind vanes, thermometers, and barometric sensors, MET towers are an integral part of ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the entire park.
Our team of highly trained repower technicians is working with IEA Constructors to repower 133 GE turbines in Texas. During this project we are retrofitting them with more efficient components This significantly increases wind farm production and extends wind farm life. On average, wind turbines repowered by GE have seen a 20 percent increase in annual energy production and a 1.5 percent availability improvement. Great partners make great projects.
21 SG145 new wind turbines are going up in North Texas where JMS was contracted to perform the internal tower wiring and fiber install. Fiber splicing teams are working on installing closures outside of a wind turbine where they will pull the fiber into the turbine, while team members splice and terminate the fiber to a SCADA system inside a control cabinet in the wind turbine. (SCADA) is a system of software and hardware elements that allows industrial organizations to directly interact with devices such as sensors, valves, pumps, motors, and more through human-machine interface (HMI) software.
